VendorFit is a B2B technology search engine designed to help users find the Best-Fit business software and service provider. Our mission is to give technology buyers a completely unbiased platform where they can quickly and easily find the right software or service providers based on their own unique needs.
How do you define a Best-Fit Vendor?
The Best-Fit vendors are not necessarily what the media or analysts promote as "Best Vendors" or "Top Vendors" in a category. A "Best-Fit" vendor is a solution provider whose products or services match the needs and situation of the interested buyer. This is where VendorFit adds value. We help buyers short-list potential vendors whose products or services best fit their requirements. Furthermore, using our aggregated news and reviews feature, buyers can also research the credibility of a vendor to come to the right conclusions when making buying decisions.
How is this different from searching and researching with Google?
Undoubtedly, search engines like Google are very powerful and they can be used to find a vast array of software solutions that will meet requirements. However, users today are using more specialized search platforms like Kayak for travel, Zillow for housing, and Yelp for restaurants. These services make the overall search experience more meaningful.
VendorFit fills this gap for business technology searches that require a specialized approach. Using VendorFit, IT buyers can efficiently research the best possible option when it comes to business software and IT consulting companies. In addition, for each search result, users have the opportunity to read news and reviews about the company without doing any additional searches.
What is a Use Case?
It is a suitable and convenient way to define who the user of the software or service is and what their high-level requirements are. We at VendorFit thought that the term "Use Case" is very appropriate in first understanding the "case" for the "use" of a specific software or service. Only then would searching, selecting and evaluating potential providers make more sense. Read more here on the definition and some examples of Use Cases.
How is VendorFit different from other software directories and advisory services?
VendorFit is an intelligent search engine and not a directory or manual advisory service. We differentiate ourselves by offering various types of search options to meet the huge diversity of buyers that we serve. To remain relevant with changes in the technology world, we are constantly improving our search results to give the best possible options to our users.
A brief outline of the VendorFit search options are given below. We will soon be offering users more filtering options to further narrow down their searches.
1. Use Case Based search:
Our most popular search is the use case based search where a use case is defined keeping a set of target users and their needs in mind. The search result has two parts: a Best-Fit part and an Organic part. The Best-Fit part search is executed through manual research based on a provider niche. The organic part is executed by searching the entire web with carefully selected technical and business keywords to deliver the right results.
2. Keyword Based Search
Search based on any need can be launched using appropriate keywords in our search bar. The company results are ranked based on real-time search and keyword relevancy on their websites. For service providers, the "Keywords with Location" option is available to narrow down providers based on geographic locations.
3. Category Based Search
If someone wants to browse all companies based on any specific category, we can provide the right search results. Some of our use cases are designed to meet this need. These are flagged as category based use cases. You may contact us for any specific category to receive a complete list.
Where do I check reviews and the credibility of a vendor?
We do take vendor reviews and vendor credibility quite seriously. People talk about a software product or service in different ways and in different contexts. Starting with formal review sites, which are successful in getting reviews from verified end-users, discussions can also be found in various forums like LinkedIn, Stackoverflow, Reddit etc. In addition, in many cases product and service experiences are shared in the form of news or blog articles.
Instead of checking credibility from a single source, our system aggregates news and reviews from multiple trusted sources. This saves our users the time spent on finding the same reviews. This information empowers users to make informed decisions when it comes to fulfilling their software needs, as they will have the assurance that all the appropriate information sources have been accessed.
How are use cases generated?
Anyone is welcome to contribute a use case. Just email us at [email protected].
If it's a valid use case, we will include it in our database. Also, VendorFit's own research team analyzes buyers’ needs and providers’ solutions to generate use cases every day. Solution providers also feed use cases based on their own products and services.
I am not seeing a use case for my need. What do I do?
For immediate use, you can always search using any keywords directly. Please do email your use cases to [email protected] and submit them here. We will immediately act upon it and send you the Best-Fit list.
I am not happy with the type of vendors VendorFit is showing in the search results for my search criteria. What are my options?
If you are not satisfied with the results, we suggest you change the keywords to see if that makes a difference.
If you still don't see the right vendors, please contact us. Our research team will investigate and find the RIGHT FIT at NO cost to you.
Can I request custom research about a software product or service provider?
VendorFit is a free marketing platform for technology vendors. You can simply submit your website (if not already selected by us) and get visibility from potential buyers who are looking for companies like you. If you are in business for over a year with verifiable clients and have a reasonably good website you can be included in our database. We do not accept freelancers.
I was expecting my company to come up in a specific keyword / use case search. I don't see it. Why?
Firstly, make sure your company is listed in our database. Secondly, while searching under a specific keyword, make sure you check the results page thoroughly by clicking the "Load More" button. Thirdly, make sure your site contains the keywords you want. If you have already verified all three of these aspects without success, then contact us and we will investigate further.
How do I promote my company more with VendorFit?
In addition to free inclusion in our database, there are three premium options available for more visibility:
1. If your company is a Best-Fit company, it’s a great opportunity to stand out among others by providing more information on case studies, special offers, client testimonials and videos.
2. You can sponsor any use case and pay a flat monthly fee.
3. A vendor can sponsor certain keywords and Pay by click.
If you are interested in any of our vendor options and would like to learn more, contact us at [email protected] or use the "contact us" form.
